(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, at the invitation of China in its capacity as the rotating President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), will lead a high-level delegation to attend the UNSC High-Level Open Debate, to be held on 26 May 2026 in New York, the United States of America, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Friday (May 22).

The high-level meeting will be conducted under the theme “Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centered International System.”

The debate will be chaired by Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who will also deliver opening remarks.

While in New York, Cambodian foreign minister is expected to participate in related side events and also hold separate bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries to further strengthen bilateral relations, advance cooperation, and exchange views on various issues of mutual interest and common concern.
