(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a farewell call from Tibor Baloghdi, Ambassador of Hungary to Cambodia, and his colleagues at the Peace Palace on Tuesday (May 26), on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
During the meeting, the Hungarian ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the excellent relations and cooperation between the two countries. He emphasised that the relationship has withstood the test of time, transforming the two nations into close partners.
Notably, the exchange of visits within the frameworks of the legislative and executive bodies, as well as links between private investors, reflect the progress of a fruitful cooperation that serves as a strong foundation for further deepening and expanding bilateral relations.
He also highlighted that Hungary would continue strengthening the close partnership with Cambodia to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation within both regional and international frameworks.
The ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to the Royal Government and the relevant ministries and institutions of Cambodia for their excellent cooperation, which has led to numerous mutually beneficial achievements for the peoples of both countries.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highly appreciated the ambassador’s active contribution to enhancing and expanding relations and cooperation between the two countries during his diplomatic mandate.
Samdech Thipadei also expressed satisfaction with the growing high-level relations between the two countries across both legislative and executive bodies and thanked the government and people of Hungary for continuing to provide scholarships and support to Cambodian students, thereby contributing to the development of Cambodia’s human resources.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei emphasised that while state-to-state cooperation is vital, people-to-people relations also play an equally important role in fostering closer bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two countries. He added that the Royal Government of Cambodia would continue nurturing relations between the two countries to further strengthen cooperation within bilateral, regional, and international frameworks.
Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei encouraged Cambodia and Hungary to continue strengthening private sector-to-private sector ties through the organisation of business visits focusing on priority sectors such as water resources management and agro-industry. He also encouraged Hungarian investors to further explore investment opportunities in Cambodia, noting that both countries continue to possess significant untapped potential for cooperation.
