(Washington): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to the peaceful settlement of disputes during the United Nations Security Council’s High-Level Open Debate on Tuesday (May 26).

Addressing the Council, the minister underscored that in an era marked by rising global turbulence, armed conflicts, and geopolitical tensions, territorial integrity and the peaceful settlement of disputes must remain the bedrock of the international order.

During the statement, the foreign minister reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to the UN Charter and drawing from its own historical experience, he highlighted that disputes must be resolved exclusively through dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law.

Before concluding, Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed Cambodia’s sincere appreciation to the international community for supporting the ceasefire and the peaceful settlement of the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
