(Tboung Khmum): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his commitment to maintaining the tax exemption on agricultural land, contingent upon the continued governance of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).
The premier spoke on Wednesday (May 27) during the inauguration ceremony of a rubber company, along with Wang Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, in Tboung Khmum province.
"Provided that the CPP continues to receive public support to lead the country, we will uphold the exemption of agricultural land from taxation," he stated.
He further highlighted that this policy demonstrates the government's ongoing commitment to the agricultural sector and aims to alleviate the burdens faced by farmers.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also called upon relevant institutions to assess products reliant on domestic raw materials and to implement suitable incentives to foster local production. He also noted that exports of domestically manufactured goods, such as bicycle tyres, will remain exempt from taxation.
