(Phnom Penh): The General Department of Immigration (GDI) under Cambodia's Ministry of Interior denied reports published by foreign websites claiming that it ordered Africans with expired immigration waivers to leave Cambodia by 31 May 2026.

In a press clarification seen by Fresh News on Friday (May 29), the GDI stated that it has observed that recently, certain websites with addresses campaigneronline.com and newsghana.com published information in English stating "Cambodia Orders Africans with Expired Immigration Waivers to Leave by 31 May 2026."

The department clarified that the information published on those websites is completely untrue.

The GDI urged both national and international audiences to rely only on official sources for immigration-related information concerning Cambodia.
