(Siem Reap): The Ad Hoc Expert Group of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Sites of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk (ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk), together with Cambodian experts from the APSARA National Authority, continued their inspection of restoration and conservation sites in the Angkor area on 3 June 2026.

The inspection covered several important locations, including the Phimeanakas, the South and North Gates of Angkor Thom, archaeological excavations associated with the Royal Palace restoration project in the former capital, Bayon temple, Ta Som temple, Ta Nei temple, and the renovation of visitor itineraries at Phnom Krom.

The mission was carried out to study ongoing conservation efforts and assess the progress of work in accordance with recommendations previously provided by the expert group, ensuring that restoration activities continue to meet international standards for heritage preservation.
