(Pursat): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia, announced that at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jun. 6), the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) of Cambodia facilitated a field mission for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) under the Philippine Chairmanship.

The objective was to observe, verify, and report on the border situation at Steung Me Teuk Bridge, located in Thmar Da Commune, Veal Veng District, Pursat Province.

It is also worth noting that the Steung Me Teuk Bridge was attacked by Thai Air Force's fighter jets on 13 December 2025, resulting in its complete destruction. The bridge is a purely civilian infrastructure, located dozens of kilometers from the Cambodian-Thai border.

The ministry reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on 27 December 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on 26 October 2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, and long-lasting peace and stability.
