(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Minister of National Defence General Tea Seiha reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to resolving all issues peacefully in accordance with existing bilateral agreements and mechanisms with Thailand.
In a statement posted on social media on Tuesday (Jun. 9), General Tea Seiha said certain media outlets and individuals in Thailand have been trying to convey the message: “the Minister of National Defence of Cambodia rejects the use of bilateral mechanisms and is increasing troops and weapons to provoke war soon.”
“Cambodia consistently adheres to its steadfast position of resolving all issues peacefully,” he stated, citing the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement signed in Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2025, the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on 27 December 2025, and other existing bilateral mechanisms.
General Tea Seiha added that Cambodia remains hopeful that both sides will peacefully resolve these matters and absolutely avoid any use of force.
