(Battambang): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, affirmed that he will continue supporting the Royal Government in expanding domestic production of equipment for the national defence and security sectors.

Speaking during an inspection visit to the DSS military uniform manufacturing factory in Battambang Province on Thursday afternoon (Jun. 11), Samdech Techo expressed confidence in Cambodia’s ability to strengthen its defence industry through local production and innovation.

“If Cambodians were capable of building Angkor Wat, producing equipment for national defence and security is not difficult for today’s generation,” he stated. “We will not allow anyone to look down on us or insult us. We have dignity and a strong sense of responsibility.”

Samdech Techo added that Cambodia’s priority is to ensure sufficient domestic supply of military equipment before expanding into export markets. He noted that the government is currently studying and investing in the production of additional defence-related components and equipment to support the country’s long-term security needs.

While declining to reveal specific items under consideration, he underlined that Cambodia must possess adequate resources and domestic production capacity to support national defence and defensive warfare.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo also reaffirmed his ongoing commitment to assisting the government in strengthening the country’s defence sector, particularly in logistics and supply support.
