(Phnom Penh): Cambodia-Thailand trade reached more than USD 1.1 billion during the first five months of 2026, a 38.7 per cent decline from the same period last year, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.
Thai imports to Cambodia fell 42.4 per cent to USD 854 million, while Cambodian exports to Thailand dropped 25 per cent to more than USD 296 million year-on-year.
Despite the decline, Thailand remained Cambodia’s fifth-largest trading partner after China, the United States, Viet Nam, and Japan.
Sin Chanthy, CEO of Linehaul Express (Cambodia), said imports from Thailand mainly include essential goods, raw materials, industrial inputs, spare parts, and assembly equipment, which continue arriving by sea after land border closures between the two countries.
He added that imports of certain Thai products, including beverages, prepared foods, fuel, and produce, have completely stopped.
