(Phnom Penh): So Naro, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister in charge of ASEAN Affairs, said Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet outlined four priorities to guide the future of ASEAN-Russia cooperation during the 35th ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan, Russia.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday (Jun. 19) to brief the media on the outcomes of the prime minister’s participation in the summit, So Naro said Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to further strengthening ASEAN-Russia relations and underscored four priorities for future cooperation:
1- Enhancing political and security cooperation, including efforts to combat transnational crime and online scams.
2- Unlocking the full potential of economic cooperation through greater trade, investment and business connectivity.
3- Deepening collaboration on energy security and sustainable development
4- Expanding people-centred initiatives in culture, education, youth exchanges and tourism.
So Naro added that Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that, in an increasingly complex global landscape, unity and solidarity remain indispensable to overcoming shared challenges and seizing new opportunities. The premier also expressed confidence that ASEAN-Russia relations would continue to grow steadily, bringing long-term benefits to their peoples and contributing to a peaceful, resilient and prosperous future for both regions and the world as a whole.
