(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call from Alona Fisher-Kamm, Ambassador of Israel to Cambodia, with residence in Bangkok, at the Peace Palace on Tuesday (Jun. 23).

During the meeting, Alona Fisher-Kamm highly valued the relations and cooperation between Israel and Cambodia. She noted that bilateral cooperation continues to develop positively and expressed confidence that there remains considerable potential for further expansion.

She added that the demographic similarities between the two countries, particularly their youthful populations, provide an important catalyst for Israel and Cambodia to explore opportunities to further expand cooperation across various sectors in the future.

At the same time, Alona Fisher-Kamm reaffirmed her commitment to further strengthening existing bilateral cooperation, including the continued admission of Cambodian agricultural students for internship programmes in Israel, as well as promoting labour cooperation in the agricultural sector. In addition, she expressed her intention to further promote cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and science.

In response, Samdech Thipadei congratulated Alona Fisher-Kamm on her appointment as Ambassador of Israel to Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Cambodia and Israel and agreed on the importance of further strengthening and expanding cooperation in a wide range of promising sectors. He also affirmed that the Royal Government would continue to fully support existing cooperation and promote greater connectivity and collaboration in other areas of mutual interest.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei and the ambassador also discussed ways to further strengthen and expand cooperation in key sectors, including trade and investment, agriculture and water resource management, education, technology, and healthcare, as well as promoting closer linkages between the private sectors of Cambodia and Israel.
