(Vientiane): Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, paid a courtesy call on Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Laos, during an official visit on 23 June 2026.
Leading a high-level Cambodian delegation, Minister Dith Tina conveyed warm greetings from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and briefed the Lao premier on the outcomes of recent bilateral discussions between the agriculture ministries of Cambodia and Laos.
The talks focused on expanding agricultural trade, strengthening private-sector partnerships, and enhancing cooperation to increase exports to the Chinese market through transport corridors connecting the two countries.
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone welcomed the greetings from Prime Minister Hun Manet and reaffirmed the strong ties between Cambodia and Laos. He also underlined the potential for deeper collaboration in conservation initiatives, particularly joint efforts to protect forests and wildlife while promoting sustainable natural resource management.
The visit underscored both countries’ commitment to expanding agricultural cooperation, boosting market access for Cambodian agricultural products, strengthening environmental conservation, and exploring opportunities to facilitate the supply of agricultural inputs, including fertilizers, from Laos to Cambodia.
