(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said the Royal Government has confronted the country's challenges over the past two years with determination, rather than avoiding them.

Speaking at a gathering with Cambodia’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on Saturday (Jun. 27), the premier said Cambodia has faced a range of difficulties, including global economic uncertainty, supply chain shifts, rising trade protectionism, technological competition, geopolitical tensions, border-related issues with Thailand, cyber scam-related economic impacts, and the rapid growth of artificial intelligence.

Despite these challenges, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that Cambodia has strong foundations to build on, citing its strategic location, young workforce, investment incentives, and extensive free trade agreements that provide access to international markets.

“Although we face many challenges, we also have considerable potential that we can harness to strengthen ourselves,” he said, adding that continued reforms are essential to enhance the country's competitiveness.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet also described challenges as opportunities for improvement, urging Cambodians to confront difficulties with resilience rather than lose confidence.
