(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will make an official visit to China in July 2026, where he is scheduled to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and hold talks aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, according to Senate Spokesperson Chea Thyrith.
Chea Thyrith announced the planned visit during a press conference on Saturday (Jun. 27) on the outcomes of Senate President Hun Sen’s recent goodwill visit to China.
“Next July, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will also travel to China for an official visit,” he said.
Chea Thyrith said Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will participate in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, which is expected to bring together leaders from around the world.
He added that Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s recent visit helped lay the groundwork for the prime minister’s trip, with discussions between the Cambodian People’s Party and China’s leadership to be followed by government-level talks.
According to Chea Thyrith, agreements reached through party-to-party engagement provide a framework for implementation by the two governments.
During the visit, Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chinese leaders are expected to discuss a broad range of issues to further strengthen Cambodia-China cooperation. The spokesperson added that Chinese Premier Li Qiang is looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Hun Manet to explore new opportunities to deepen bilateral ties.
