(Phnom Penh): Senior military leaders from the United States (US) and Cambodia convened in Phnom Penh and at the Peacekeeping Operations Training Centre for the Exercise Angkor Sentinel 2027 Concept Development Conference, which is set to resume for the first time since 2016, according to the US Embassy in Phnom Penh.
The conference brought together representatives from the US Army Pacific, the Idaho Army National Guard, the Royal Cambodian Army, and the National Centre for Peacekeeping, Mines, and Explosive Remnants of War (NPMEC).
The Embassy added that the renewed collaboration underscores a shared commitment to strengthening US-Cambodia military cooperation and promoting peace, stability, and preparedness across the Indo-Pacific region.
The resumption of Exercise Angkor Sentinel reflects the growing defence cooperation between the United States and Cambodia following several years without the annual engagement. Exercise Angkor Sentinel 2027 is expected to provide valuable opportunities for both nations' armed forces to exchange expertise, enhance operational capabilities, and reinforce their longstanding partnership.
