(Phnom Penh): Vissoth Nam, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AirAsia Cambodia and a member of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders Class of 2026, participated in the 17th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions (“Summer Davos”), held from 23–25 June 2026 in Dalian, People’s Republic of China.
Held under the theme “Innovating at Scale,” the meeting brought together more than 1,700 leaders from business, government, academia and civil society to exchange ideas on the future of global growth. The programme featured a keynote address by Li Qiang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China, outlining China’s economic priorities and its evolving role in the global economy.
Representing AirAsia Cambodia and Cambodia’s aviation sector, Vissoth Nam was invited to speak on the panel “Experiences as an Industry,” where he shared a perspective from Cambodia on the Economy of Experience—an ecosystem where aviation, tourism, hospitality, technology and public services converge to create greater economic value than any one sector could achieve alone.
Drawing on Cambodia’s development journey, he highlighted how stronger connectivity, innovation and cross-sector collaboration can transform industries into seamless experiences that attract investment, strengthen tourism and accelerate sustainable economic growth. He also emphasized that technologies such as artificial intelligence are not the destination, but an enabler that helps reduce friction across this ecosystem, enabling faster coordination, better decisions and greater economic value.
“The next generation of economies will not compete industry by industry—they will compete experience by experience. When we connect aviation, tourism, technology and public services into one ecosystem, we create greater opportunities for people, increase the velocity of the economy and unlock sustainable growth.”
Beyond his speaking engagement, Vissoth Nam participated in a private leadership dinner hosted by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) with global CEOs and senior executives. As part of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders Leadership Programme, he also joined an exclusive closed-door group leadership discussion with Nyam-Osor Uchral, Prime Minister of Mongolia, alongside fellow Young Global Leaders, exchanging perspectives on leadership, innovation and the future of economic development.
AirAsia Cambodia’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening regional connectivity while contributing to Cambodia’s long-term ambition of building an Economy of Experience—where connectivity brings together people, industries and opportunities to drive sustainable economic growth.
