(Phnom Penh): Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk returned safely to Cambodia on Friday afternoon (Jul. 3) after concluding a medical visit to Beijing, China, bringing welcome news to the Cambodian people.

According to the Ministry of the Royal Palace, the king underwent a routine medical check-up and received treatment for a prostate condition during his stay in Beijing. The treatment was successful, and he has made a full recovery.

The king and queen mother travelled to China on 27 February 2026 for the king's regular health examination and returned following the successful completion of his treatment and recovery.

Government officials and citizens gathered to welcome them upon their arrival, expressing joy at the king's improved health and safe return to the kingdom.

Their return, particularly news of King Sihamoni’s full recovery, has been widely welcomed as reassuring and uplifting news for the Cambodian people.
