(Banteay Meanchey): General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Haji Malek Razak Bin Sulaiman, Chief of Defence Forces of the Malaysian Armed Forces, led a high-level delegation to Banteay Meanchey province on 8 July 2026, where he received a briefing from the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) stationed in the province.

The Malaysian military chief is on an official visit to Cambodia from 8 to 11 July 2026, at the invitation of General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

His visit to the Cambodia-Thailand border area in Banteay Meanchey reflects Malaysia's close attention to regional security and stability, particularly issues involving borders between ASEAN member states.

The field visit is part of military and diplomatic cooperation aimed at gaining a better understanding of the situation on the ground and contributing to peaceful solutions.
