(China): Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's support for Cambodia's socio-economic development and pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation by advancing the Diamond Cooperation Framework and accelerating the implementation of the Industrial and Technology Corridor and the Fish and Rice Corridor.

President Xi made the remarks during his bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Shanghai, China, on 17 July 2026 on the sidelines of the 2026 World AI Conference.

During the meeting, President Xi highly praised the strong and enduring China–Cambodia Ironclad Friendship, reiterating China's unwavering support for Cambodia's socio-economic development.

He also reaffirmed China's commitment to deepening cooperation with Cambodia through the Diamond Cooperation Framework and expediting the implementation of the Industrial and Technology Corridor and the Fish and Rice Corridor, with the aim of promoting sustainable development in Cambodia.

For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated China on successfully hosting the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and expressed appreciation for China's continued assistance, which has contributed to Cambodia's socio-economic development, infrastructure expansion, and improvements in the livelihoods of the Cambodian people.

The prime minister reaffirmed Cambodia's adherence to the One China Policy, stating that Cambodia considers issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xizang (Tibet), and Xinjiang to be China's internal affairs.

He also commended the continued progress in Cambodia–China relations, describing the two countries as Comprehensive Strategic Partners and Ironclad Friends jointly building the Cambodia–China All-Weather Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.

On the occasion, the two leaders also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, connectivity infrastructure, energy, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, agriculture, defence, and security.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also briefed President Xi on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia–Thailand border situation, reaffirming Cambodia's commitment to resolving border issues peacefully in accordance with international law and existing bilateral conventions, treaties, and agreements between the two countries.
