(Phnom Penh): The US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) praised the Cambodian government's efforts to improve the country's investment and business climate during a meeting with Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth on Wednesday (Jul. 22).

US-ABC President and CEO Brian D. McFeeters met with the minister alongside representatives from the US Embassy in Cambodia and 13 US companies, including Ford Motor, Coca-Cola, Mastercard, Visa, Roche, Abbott, and Philip Morris International.

During the meeting, Cambodian finance minister highlighted the growing economic partnership between Cambodia and the United States, noting that bilateral trade reached approximately USD 13 billion in 2025, while US investment totalled around USD 1 billion. He also reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to attracting high-value investment in priority sectors such as agro-industry, clean energy, digital technology, logistics, healthcare, education, and advanced technology.

For his part, McFeeters commended the Royal Government's efforts to address business challenges, saying Cambodia's investment climate had improved significantly over the past two years despite ongoing challenges. He also encouraged both existing and prospective investors to engage with the government on business opportunities and concerns.

In response, Minister Aun Pornmoniroth outlined key reforms aimed at streamlining administrative procedures, expanding digital public services, strengthening regulatory compliance, and enhancing public-private dialogue through the Government-Private Sector Forum.

On the occasion, McFeeters also pledged to share positive updates on Cambodia's business environment with stakeholders in Washington, D.C., to help promote greater US trade and investment in the kingdom.
