(Phnom Penh): The Cambodia-Singapore Cooperation Centre (CSCC) in Phnom Penh held the closing ceremony for two courses conducted under the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) framework: Note-Taking and Report Writing Skills and Intermediate English Language and Communication Skills, for Cambodian government officials.

Effective note-taking and report writing are essential workplace skills that enable officials to capture key information accurately and translate discussions into clear, concise and actionable records.

Through the course, participants strengthened their ability to retain critical information and produce well-structured notes and reports for meetings, forums and conferences.

Phin Bunthoe, Deputy Director at the Ministry of Information and a participant of the Note-Taking and Report Writing Skills course, shared, "I believe this course is very useful for government officials working across ministries, institutions and sectors in preparing reports."

In today's globalised world, proficiency in English is an essential tool for effective professional communication.

Through the Intermediate English Language and Communication Skills course, participants enhanced their grammar, professional writing and public speaking skills, while building the confidence to communicate more effectively in the workplace.

Seng Touch, Director of the Department of STI Policy at the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation and a participant of the course, remarked, "This three-week training has been both enriching and empowering. It sharpened my communication skills, boosted my confidence, expanded my professional network, and reinforced the value of lifelong learning. I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to apply these new skills in my professional career."

These courses reflect the Singapore Cooperation Programme's (SCP) continued commitment to supporting Cambodia's human capital development through practical capacity-building initiatives. They also underscore the longstanding partnership between Singapore and Cambodia under the IAI framework and our shared commitment to developing capable public institutions.

About the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI)
The Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) was launched in 2000 by then Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong to help narrow the development gap within ASEAN and support the newer ASEAN Member States, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam (CLMV), in their integration into the regional community.

Under the IAI framework, Singapore has provided technical assistance and capacity-building programmes to strengthen institutional capacity, develop human resources and promote good governance across the CLMV countries. The Cambodia-Singapore Cooperation Centre (CSCC) serves as the key platform through which Singapore delivers IAI programmes to Cambodian government officials.

About the Cambodia-Singapore Cooperation Centre (CSCC)
The Cambodia-Singapore Cooperation Centre (CSCC) was established as the Cambodia-Singapore Training Centre (CSTC) in 2002 following the launch of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI).

In 2018, the Centre was upgraded to the CSCC to further expand the scope and quality of its capacity-building programmes.

Located at the iCON Building in Phnom Penh, the CSCC serves as a dedicated platform for capacity-building, knowledge exchange and people-to-people ties between Singapore and Cambodia.

To date, more than 19,000 Cambodian government officials have benefitted from the Centre's programmes.
