(Phnom Penh): Indian companies representing the Electronics, Software and Information Technology (ICT) sector interacted with their Cambodian counterparts in Phnom Penh on Thursday (Jul. 30).

The event was held on the occasion of a visit by an Indian business delegation comprising 11 delegates representing 9 leading Indian technology companies. Indian companies are in Phnom Penh to explore business and investment opportunities, establish partnerships with Cambodian stakeholders, and contribute to Cambodia's ongoing digital transformation journey. The visit marks another significant milestone in strengthening India-Cambodia cooperation in the fields of digital technology, innovation, and the knowledge economy.

The B2B interaction was organized by the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh in collaboration with the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), India's apex trade promotion organization for Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Software, and IT-enabled Services.

The Indian delegation includes Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Managing Directors (MDs), and senior executives representing a wide spectrum of advanced technology sectors, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Big Data Analytics, FinTech, AgriTech, Business Automation, Electric Vehicle (EV) Solutions, Mobile and Web Applications, Metaverse Technologies, Aviation Technologies, Health IT, Animation, Gaming, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), Consumer Electronics, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Semiconductors, Electronic Components, IT Hardware, Medical Electronics and Equipment, Strategic Electronics, Solar-powered Products and Equipment, Electronic Instruments, Embedded Technologies, and Drone Technologies.

The event witnessed the participation of more than 100 representatives from the Government, private sector, business associations, financial institutions, technology companies, and startups from both India and Cambodia.

Cambodian participants included leading tech companies and startups, the Cambodia Okhna Association (COA), the Cambodia Digital Tech Association (CDTA), the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC), Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), the Indian Business Chamber in Cambodia (IBCC), and several leading financial institutions, including ABA Bank, ACLEDA Bank, Vattanac Bank, Wing Bank, and Bridge Bank, among others.

In his interactions with the participants, Ambassador Vanlalvawna encouraged businesses from both countries to identify new avenues for collaboration, technology partnerships, innovation, digital capacity building, and investment. He emphasized that closer cooperation between Indian and Cambodian enterprises would further strengthen bilateral economic ties while supporting Cambodia's digital transformation and sustainable economic development.

The interaction also underscored India's growing leadership in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital innovation. Earlier this year, India successfully hosted the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, the first global AI summit to be held in the Global South.

The Summit brought together leaders from over 100 countries, global technology companies, policymakers, researchers, startups, and international organizations to advance international cooperation on responsible, inclusive, and human-centric AI.

India's AI ecosystem continues to expand rapidly through strong public-private collaboration, research and innovation, startup development, digital public infrastructure, and initiatives aimed at leveraging AI for inclusive and sustainable development.

The one day business interaction provided an excellent platform for fostering business networking, technology transfer, knowledge exchange, and commercial partnerships between Indian and Cambodian companies. The event reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to deepen cooperation in the ICT sector and promote innovation-led economic growth under the India–Cambodia partnership.
