(Phnom Penh): Chinese tourism businesses and investors expressed strong interest in investment opportunities in Preah Sihanouk Province during the “2026 Business Tourism Forum”, held on 29 July 2026 to promote Cambodia's Green Season Tourism Campaign.

The forum brought together more than 300 government officials, investors, and business leaders from Cambodia and China. A business-matching event involving 38 sellers and 28 buyers is expected to generate agreements worth over 50% of participating deals.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak highlighted Cambodia’s peace, political stability, security, and a favourable investment environment, which serve as strong foundations for tourism development and attracting foreign investment.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has introduced various incentive measures to facilitate travel and investment, including a five-month visa exemption for Chinese citizens during the 2026 Green Season Tourism Campaign, he added.

On the occasion, the minister underlined that this forum serves as an important platform to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and investment opportunities, particularly in Preah Sihanouk province, which is rapidly developing in terms of infrastructure, services, and hospitality.

He also outlined three priorities for the province: strengthening public-private partnerships, improving tourism services and products, and expanding promotion in the Chinese market.

Minister Huot Hak expressed strong confidence that the “2026 Business Tourism Forum” would lead to numerous business agreements, contribute to promoting the tourism potential and investment opportunities of Preah Sihanouk province and Cambodia as a whole to international markets, and encourage greater flows of tourists and investment in the future.
