(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn received a farewell courtesy call from Stefan Messerer, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cambodia, on Wednesday (Jul. 29) at the Ministry.
During the meeting, Prak Sokhonn commended Ambassador Messerer for his dedicated efforts in strengthening the longstanding friendship and expanding cooperation between Cambodia and Germany for the mutual benefit of both nations.
The foreign minister also expressed his readiness to extend the same support to the ambassador's successor to further deepen bilateral relations and elevate the partnership to new heights.
Both sides discussed expanding cooperation in priority areas, including trade and investment, education, agriculture, agro-industry, energy, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, with an emphasis on high-level exchanges which help achieve during the ambassador’s mission.
They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, underscoring the importance of upholding international law and supporting diplomatic approaches to the peaceful settlement of disputes.
The minister also updated the outgoing ambassador on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border issues.
Following farewell meeting, the foreign minister hosted a luncheon in honour of Ambassador Messerer in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
