(Phnom Penh): Cambodian authorities have located a Singaporean woman who had been reported missing after she traveled to Cambodia, the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday (Jul. 31).

According to the ministry, the search operation was launched immediately after Cambodian authorities received a request for intervention from the woman's parents. The operation was coordinated by law enforcement agencies under the Ministry of Interior, including the General Department of Immigration and the Phnom Penh Municipal Police.

Authorities subsequently found the woman staying at a condominium in Phnom Penh, where she confirmed that she had not been a victim of human trafficking or any form of abuse.

During interviews with officials, the woman explained that she had traveled to Cambodia due to personal family issues and had voluntarily cut off communication with her family. She stated that her disappearance was unrelated to any criminal activity.

The Ministry of Interior said the woman is safe and is currently receiving appropriate care and assistance from the competent Cambodian authorities.

The ministry also thanked all relevant law enforcement agencies for their swift coordination and reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of all individuals within its territory.
