(Siem Reap): The Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries signed ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Cooperation to Promote Green Belts in Tourism Areas and Enhance the Efficiency of Agricultural Production Chains,” on 1 August 2026.

Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, accompanied by Prak Sophorn, Governor of Siem Reap Provincial Administration, presided over the planting of valuable tree species at the ASEAN–Korea Garden (Rosewood Garden) in Siem Reap Province.

This tree-planting activity represents an important part of Cambodia’s efforts to promote Green Tourism, in line with the Royal Government’s policy of integrating environmental and natural resource conservation with sustainable tourism development.

At the same time, the Ministry of Tourism continues to promote the “One Tourist, One Tree” campaign, actively encouraging both domestic and international tourists to plant a tree during their visit to Cambodia.

The campaign aims to transform every journey into more than just a memorable travel experience, it also enables visitors to leave behind a “Green Legacy” for local communities and future generations.

The implementation of this campaign also makes a significant contribution to transforming Cambodia into a “Green, Clean and Smart Tourism Destination,” offering high-quality and attractive tourism experiences while contributing to the protection of the environment and natural resources and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
