(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call from a business delegation of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce-Hong Kong (CGCC) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union (GBA Alliance), comprising around 20 companies, at the Peace Palace on Friday (Aug. 7).

The delegation was led by Jonathan K.S. Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, CGCC, and the GBA Alliance.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed strong confidence in Cambodia’s rapid development and interest in exploring investment opportunities in high-potential sectors, including infrastructure and real estate, banking and finance, technology and artificial intelligence, e-commerce, energy, transport and logistics, aviation, agriculture, education and vocational training, and healthcare.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the delegation’s interest and highlighted Royal Government measures to attract investment, including institutional reforms, streamlined administrative procedures, and tax incentives for priority sectors.

He also underscored efforts to improve road, rail, waterway, and international air connectivity to reduce logistics costs, while noting Cambodia’s bilateral and regional free trade agreements as a gateway to regional and global supply chains.

On the occasion, the prime minister reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to maintaining a resilient, competitive, safe, and secure investment environment and encouraged the delegation to work closely with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to identify concrete investment opportunities.
