(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Senate President, extended congratulations to Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and the people of Indonesia on the occasion of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day, according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Aug. 15).

In the letter, Samdech Techo Hun Sen offered his warmest congratulations and best wishes to President Prabowo Subianto, the government, and the Indonesian nation on this auspicious occasion.

“On behalf of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own behalf, may I offer my warmest congratulations and best wishes to you, the government, and the friendly people of your nation on the auspicious occasion of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.”

"This auspicious day marks yet another important milestone for Indonesia in the modern era, a testament to the achievements of the nation stemming not only from the fruits of the hard-working populace but also from the tireless efforts of visionary statesmen, including yourself. I am confident that under your leadership, Indonesia will continue to thrive and become an increasingly modern and prosperous nation," according to the letter.

Commending Indonesia’s socio-economic progress under visionary leadership, he reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to working closely with Indonesia to strengthen bilateral ties for regional peace and sustainable development.

"Recognising the longstanding friendship and excellent cooperation between our two countries, I wish to reaffirm my commitment to working closely with Your Excellency to further strengthen our bilateral relations for the mutual benefits of our two peoples and to contribute to peace, stability, and sustainable development in our region and beyond."
