(Phnom Penh): Khuon Sudary, Cambodian National Assembly President, extended congratulations to Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha of the Republic of India, and the people of India on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day, according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Aug. 15).
In the letter, Samdech Khuon Sudary offered her heartfelt felicitations to Speaker Om Birla, his parliamentary colleagues, and the Indian nation on this historic occasion.
“On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own behalf, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations and felicitations to you, your colleagues, and the people of the Republic of India on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of Independence Day on 15 August 2026.”
Highlighting a partnership founded on mutual respect, trust, and shared values, she reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to advancing inter-parliamentary cooperation and bilateral ties.
“I am confident that the longstanding ties of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between our two countries, built on mutual respect, mutual understanding, mutual trust, and mutual interests, will be deepened in the years ahead for the benefits of our two peoples, while reaffirming our commitment to further elevate our parliamentary cooperation to new heights at both bilateral and multilateral platforms for the sake of lasting peace and prosperity.”
