(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that Cambodia’s culture of dialogue must be grounded in genuine sincerity, mutual respect, and an unyielding commitment to the national interest.
Speaking at the 11th nationwide gathering with Achar and Acharini on Wednesday (Aug. 19), the prime minister underlined that the ruling Cambodian People’s Party has consistently pursued national unity through open communication.
The prime minister, however, stressed that meaningful dialogue requires consistency and sincerity, cautioning against adopting a constructive tone at home while resorting to divisive political rhetoric abroad.
Highlighting the importance of inclusive cooperation, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet pointed to the recent appointment of Kem Monovithya as a special envoy to the prime minister as an example of collaboration across political backgrounds in pursuit of national development.
He said Kem Monovithya's international experience and networks could contribute to advancing Cambodia's national priorities, particularly in areas related to foreign affairs and border issues.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed that Cambodia remains open to working with anyone who genuinely seeks to contribute to the country's development, regardless of political background. He underscored that solidarity, mutual trust, and peaceful engagement remain essential foundations for strengthening national unity and ensuring lasting social stability.
