(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call from Thamer Mohammed A. Algosaibi, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, at the Peace Palace on Monday afternoon (Aug. 24).
Ambassador Algosaibi commended the progress in bilateral relations and pledged to elevate ties to a new level during his diplomatic tenure. He identified two key priorities: promoting working visits by leaders and officials, and strengthening private-sector connections.
He also highlighted an upcoming visit by a Saudi business delegation to Cambodia, aimed at exploring trade and investment opportunities.
In response, Samdech Thipadei congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to further strengthen bilateral relations. The prime minister noted that Cambodia’s seventh-mandate Royal Government is actively pursuing diversified global economic partnerships, including with Saudi Arabia, and highlighted the Kingdom's robust investment climate and free trade agreements.
Both sides also discussed expanding cooperation in the economy, trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, technology, and artificial intelligence, with Samdech Thipadei encouraging closer coordination with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions.
