(Kratie): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged provincial authorities nationwide to develop distinctive tourism products, improve local attractions, and organise more diverse events to attract both domestic and international visitors.

Speaking at the inauguration of three road sections in Kratie on Tuesday (Aug. 25), the premier highlighted several provinces that have successfully built recognisable local tourism identities.

He pointed to Kep's crab-themed tourism and Kampot's artificial beaches as examples of how provinces can create unique attractions that strengthen their appeal and encourage more visitors.

The prime minister underlined that clean, attractive, and well-maintained destinations remain essential to the long-term development of Cambodia's tourism sector.

On the occasion Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also cited the recent viral "Matcha Strawberry" landscape in Siem Reap, where seasonal fallen leaves created a striking natural colour contrast, as an example of how simple and locally distinctive attractions can capture public attention and generate tourism interest.

He encouraged provincial authorities to identify and promote their own unique tourism assets while improving services, infrastructure, and destination management to strengthen Cambodia's overall tourism competitiveness.
