(Kratie): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said he recently challenged an unnamed economic analyst who had repeatedly called for Cambodia to build a more sustainable and resilient economy but, according to the premier, failed to offer a concrete strategy when asked how that goal should be achieved.

Speaking at the inauguration of three road sections in Kratie province on Tuesday (Aug. 25), Samdech Thipadei emphasised that building economic resilience requires more than recommendations, pointing to the need to strengthen both domestic production and state institutions.

He said the Royal Government has pursued these priorities across successive mandates, with ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening Cambodia's capacity to withstand economic challenges and sustain long-term development.

The prime minister highlighted public administration reform as a key component of institutional resilience, saying stronger and more effective state institutions are essential to supporting a resilient economy.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also defended the government's policymaking process, stressing that policies are not developed in isolation but through extensive consultation and collaboration among government officials, technical experts, and relevant institutions.

He said proposals and ideas are carefully synthesised and debated before being translated into concrete policies and measures aimed at delivering tangible benefits to the Cambodian people.
