(Kratie): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that the Special Programme to Promote Investment in the Four Northeastern Provinces (SPIN Programme) has attracted 72 proposed projects worth a combined USD 2.7 billion, with the potential to create nearly 80,000 jobs.

Speaking at the inauguration of three road sections in Kratie on Tuesday (Aug. 25), the premier said 57 of the proposed projects have already passed initial reviews and are now proceeding through administrative procedures.

In Kratie alone, 19 investment projects have been proposed, with 14 currently under review. Together, the projects represent approximately USD 1.1 billion in investment and are expected to generate more than 2,600 jobs.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also unveiled plans to develop a new multi-purpose port in Kratie's Prek Prasap District, aimed at strengthening waterway transport and logistics while supporting broader economic development in the northeastern region.

Launched in April 2025, the SPIN Programme seeks to transform Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri into a new economic growth pole, with a focus on agriculture, agro-industry, and tourism.

The program offers investment incentives and streamlined administrative procedures designed to attract businesses, create jobs, and accelerate development across Cambodia's northeastern provinces.
