(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended his warmest congratulations to To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on the occasion of the country’s upcoming National Day, according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Sep. 1).

In the letter, Samdech Techo conveyed sincere congratulations on behalf of the Cambodian Senate and people to the Vietnamese government and its citizens as they prepare to mark their National Day on 2 September.

“On behalf of the Senate and the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and on my own behalf, I have the great pleasure to extend my sincere congratulations and warmest wishes to Your Excellency, the National Assembly, the Government, and the people of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on the auspicious occasion of the National Day of Viet Nam on 2 September 2026.”

Samdech Techo praised Viet Nam's Communist Party, State, and people for their substantial achievements under President To Lam.

“I wish to highly commend the remarkable achievements attained by the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), the State, and the people of Viet Nam under your leadership, which have contributed to maintaining political stability, promoting socio-economic development, improving the living standards of the people, and enhancing Viet Nam's role and prestige in both regional and international arenas.”

Highlighting the lasting diplomatic connections, Samdech Techo conveyed significant hope for the progression of their mutual relations.

“I firmly believe that the long-standing bonds of good-neighbourliness, traditional friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Cambodia and Viet Nam, founded on mutual trust, understanding, respect, and support, will continue to strengthen for the common interests and mutual benefits of our two peoples and countries.”

In closing the letter, Samdech Techo reiterated his unwavering dedication to collaborating closely with President To Lam to enhance cooperation between the two neighbouring nations.

“I wish to reaffirm my firm commitment to working closely with Your Excellency to further deepen the bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between our two countries and peoples.”
