(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) has surveyed 335 of 349 villages affected by remnants of the 2025 conflict with Thailand, identifying more than 3,868 square kilometres of contaminated land.

CMAC Director General Heng Ratana presented the findings to ASEAN observers and foreign military attachés in Phnom Penh.

He said over 2,950 square kilometres are threatened by cluster munitions, with 5,409 contaminated areas identified across affected provinces.

According to the CMAC director, the conflict directly affected 349 villages in 60 communes, forcing more than 640,000 people to evacuate to safer areas.

CMAC teams have also documented more than 16,000 pieces of evidence related to damage to homes, schools, temples, and heritage sites.
