(Kunming): A Cambodian media delegation held discussions with Chinese researchers and friendship officials in Kunming, Yunnan Province, aimed at strengthening mutual understanding, expanding media cooperation and deepening Cambodia-China relations.

The three-member delegation, representing Fresh News, AKP and AMS News, visited Kunming from 10-13 September 2026 at the invitation of the Chinese side.

During the visit, the Cambodian journalists exchanged views with Chinese researchers and officials on Cambodia-China relations, media cooperation and ways to strengthen communication between the two countries.

The Cambodian side highlighted the two countries’ long-standing ironclad friendship and shared perspectives on Cambodian public perceptions of China. The delegation also discussed issues affecting regional and bilateral understanding, including the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute and efforts to combat online scams.

The Chinese side said the exchanges provided a clearer understanding of Cambodian perspectives and stressed the importance of making more Cambodia-related information available in Chinese to help counter misinformation and prevent misunderstandings from affecting bilateral relations.

Beyond media and research exchanges, the delegation visited Chinese technology companies Inspur and Shanhai Luijuan Technology, where discussions highlighted potential cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technology and media innovation.

The visit further strengthened exchanges between Cambodian media representatives and Chinese research communities while opening opportunities for deeper cooperation in information sharing, technology and people-to-people ties.
