(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed that the Royal Government has never forgotten Cambodia’s territorial issues or signed away any territory, stressing that the 27 December 2025 agreement with Thailand was intended to halt armed clashes, not cede land.

The premier spoke at the inauguration of Luang Me Hospital on Wednesday (Sep. 16).

“We have never forgotten our territorial issues. In pursuing every possible means of resolution, we have not forgotten them for even a single second,” the premier said.

“No one has surrendered any territory to anyone,” the premier underlined, adding that Cambodia has not signed any final agreement with Thailand delimiting the land or maritime boundary.

He said Cambodian forces remain deployed along the border, while unresolved boundary issues continue to be addressed through the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) and other bilateral mechanisms.

“The JBC has worked for 20 years and reached agreement on certain points, but the boundary line surveyed in 1907 has yet to be fully verified. There is no new boundary line to be created,” he said.

He also highlighted Cambodia’s use of international law and UNCLOS conciliation for the maritime dispute, reiterating the government’s commitment to peaceful resolution while safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet called on the public to maintain confidence in the Royal Government’s efforts to resolve territorial disputes peacefully and through international law, stressing that such processes require patience and sustained diplomatic and legal work.
