(Phnom Penh): Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Indonesia Krishnajie Partadireja and Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia Kem Sithan jointly opened the Embassy’s annual trade and tourism promotion event, “Sousdey Indonesia 2026,” on 19 September 2026, at Hall L of the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center (DICEC) in Phnom Penh.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials from relevant ministries, Phnom Penh Capital Administration, ambassadors, professionals, and leaders of local business associations.

In his remarks, Krishnajie Partadireja said that Sousdey Indonesia 2026 was initiated to further strengthen Cambodian consumers’ awareness and understanding of Indonesian products, brands, and quality.

“While many Indonesian products have already been well received in Cambodia, there are still other ‘hidden champions’—high-quality brands of Indonesian origin that may not yet be widely recognized by Cambodian consumers,” Krishnajie Partadireja said.

Krishnajie added that Sousdey Indonesia is part of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy, which is supported by several other programs. These include facilitating a Cambodian business delegation’s participation in the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia in October 2026.

Kem Sithan welcomed Sousdey Indonesia 2026, expressing his optimism that the event would provide opportunities to deepen trade and investment ties between the two countries, as well as unlock untapped potential for economic cooperation.

Sousdey Indonesia remains the largest trade exhibition of Indonesian products in Cambodia. This year, the two-day exhibition seeks to capitalize on the momentum for both existing and newly introduced Indonesian products to gain greater exposure in the Cambodian market.

A total of 28 out of 31 exhibitors are local distributors of Indonesian products across various categories, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, personal care and beauty products, hospitality, household appliances, and fashion.

In addition to facilitating business-to-business interactions, Sousdey Indonesia also features vibrant Indonesian cultural performances by the Indonesian Cultural Center in Phnom Penh. The event introduces local audiences to the versatility of Indonesian batik for everyday wear through a batik styling challenge, as well as authentic Nusantara cuisine from selected Indonesian restaurants in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.

The successful organization of Sousdey Indonesia 2026 was supported by Smart Axiata as the main partner, along with valuable contributions from Talik AVL, Kalbe, AirAsia Cambodia, Kekean Group, Arjuna Solitaire Hotel, and Sun & Moon Riverside Hotel.

During the first eight months of 2026, bilateral trade between Indonesia and Cambodia continued to demonstrate encouraging growth. Indonesia’s exports to Cambodia increased by 30%, while Cambodia’s exports to Indonesia recorded a notable 58% increase compared with the same period last year.

The total trade volume reached USD 935 million, just USD 65 million short of the USD 1 billion mark, which has emerged as a new benchmark for bilateral trade between the two countries over the past three years.
