(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Thursday (Sep. 24) marked the 33rd anniversary of Cambodia's Constitution Day, commemorating the official promulgation of the Constitution on 24 September 1993.

Samdech Techo recalled that the Constitution was established following the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements and Cambodia's first UNTAC-supervised election in 1993.

On 24 September 1993, the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk signed the Royal Kram promulgating the Constitution at the Royal Palace.

The Constitution is the supreme law of Cambodia, requiring all laws and state decisions to conform to its provisions. It establishes the separation of legislative, executive, and judicial powers and guarantees fundamental rights and the rule of law.
