(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Thursday (Sep. 24) marked the 33rd anniversary of Constitution Day, commemorating the promulgation of Cambodia’s Constitution on 24 September 1993.

The anniversary marks the historic occasion when the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk signed and promulgated the Constitution as the kingdom’s supreme law following its adoption by the Constituent Assembly.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said the Constitution has guided Cambodia for more than three decades, providing a foundation for peace, national unity and development across all sectors.

The premier attributed the country’s peace, stability and development to the “Win-Win Policy” of former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who currently serves as Senate President and Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council to the King.

Cambodia observes Constitution Day annually on September 24 to commemorate the promulgation of the 1993 Constitution.
