(New York): Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Consultations on Friday (Sep. 25), marking a further step towards strengthening diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation.

The MoU was signed by Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during their bilateral meeting in New York, the United States.

The agreement establishes a framework for political consultations between Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the occasion, Cambodian foreign minister also expressed his pleasure in meeting his counterpart in person and emphasized the importance of exploring new avenues to deepen bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

He also provided an update on the current situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
