(Pursat): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said a solar-powered street lighting project will cover approximately 1,200 kilometres of national roads across 13 capital and provinces, with an estimated investment of USD 6 million.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Oct. 1) during the inauguration ceremony of National Road No. 10 in Pursat province.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said the first phase will cover Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, Kampot and Kep.
He welcomed the project’s expansion and called for solar street lighting to eventually cover all 25 capital and provinces, particularly along major national roads.
