(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a new level and expand cooperation across key sectors during bilateral talks at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Friday afternoon (Oct. 9).
The meeting took place during Le Minh Hung’s two-day official visit to Cambodia from 9 to 10 October 2026.
Both leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in politics, defence, security, trade, investment, agriculture, energy, education, infrastructure connectivity and tourism, alongside people-to-people exchanges.
They also highlighted 2027 as the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Year, marking 60 years of diplomatic relations.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet briefed his counterpart on the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, reaffirming Cambodia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution under international law.
Following the talks, the two prime ministers witnessed the signing of six cooperation documents covering drug rehabilitation, education, friendship monument preservation, security, a joint trade committee and bilateral trade promotion.
