(Phnom Penh): Cambodia is hosting the AI for Climate Action Forum 2026 on 13 to 14 October, bringing together around 200 delegates, policymakers, and technology innovators from developing countries to explore how artificial intelligence can support climate action.
Organised by the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee in cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Royal Government of Cambodia, the forum will open with Environment Minister Eang Sophalleth.
Discussions will focus on AI solutions for climate-vulnerable countries, digital infrastructure, emerging technology risks and opportunities, and applications in energy, agriculture, forest management, and disaster early warning systems.
The forum will also announce the winners of the AI for Climate Action Award 2026, with finalists from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Tanzania, and Mali presenting their projects in Phnom Penh.
The event reflects Cambodia’s commitment to climate action and its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
